Opening a trading account: from sign-up to your first trade
Opening an account with a licensed broker usually takes from minutes to two days, depending on identity checks. Here are the steps in order.
1. Pick the broker and the right entity
Make sure the firm is licensed in the UAE by the CMA, DFSA or FSRA and that the entity on the application form is the licensed one; choosing the wrong country can route you to an offshore entity.
2. Prepare documents
A clear Emirates ID or passport and a recent proof of address such as a utility bill or bank statement. Some brokers ask for a selfie or video check.
3. Suitability questions
You will be asked about your job, income, source of funds and experience. Brokers use the answers to decide whether leveraged products suit you. Answer honestly.
4. Choose the account type
Standard (no commission), raw spread with commission, and sometimes swap-free. Choose the account currency carefully; AED can save conversion fees. Try the demo first.
Minimum deposit as each broker publishes it for the named account.

Fund only from an account or card in your name and test a small withdrawal early. Never send money to a personal account or a crypto wallet at someone's request. Make your first trade at the smallest size with a stop-loss.
