About this page

Convert between UAE dirham, Saudi riyal, US dollar, euro, pound and more, with the source and update time of every rate: official Gulf central-bank pegs and live majors. Rates are indicative mid-market figures, not a bank or exchange-house dealing rate.

Where the rates come from

The UAE dirham, Saudi riyal, Qatari riyal, Bahraini dinar and Omani rial are pegged to the US dollar at official rates set by their central banks: 3.6725, 3.75, 3.64, 0.376 and 0.3845 per dollar. The euro, pound, yen, Swiss franc and Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars come from the live quotes shown on Invvex (Swissquote, with Yahoo Finance as fallback). The Kuwaiti dinar is pegged to an undisclosed basket, so its market rate is used (Yahoo Finance). Other currencies use daily rates from ExchangeRate-API, or from Frankfurter (European Central Bank reference rates) if that is unavailable. Each rate is shown with its source and update time.

Convert, compare and chart

Type an amount to convert instantly, search currencies by code, name or country (in English or Arabic), swap with one tap, and see the rate both ways. Compare-list mode converts one amount into a saved list of currencies (GCC currencies, USD, EUR, GBP, INR, PKR, EGP and PHP by default). Gold (XAU) and silver (XAG) can be added as currencies. The history chart covers 1 day to 5 years, using Frankfurter (European Central Bank reference rates) daily closes where available and Yahoo Finance otherwise.

Indicative, not a dealing rate

The rates are indicative mid-market rates. Banks, exchange houses and brokers add a spread or fees, so the rate you actually get can differ.
