The cTrader interface: Market Watch, charts, Trade Watch and the Active Symbol Panel

cTrader Windows is four apps in one: Trade for manual trading, Copy for copying strategies, Algo for cBots and custom indicators, and Analyze for reviewing your performance. You switch between them from the main menu in the upper left. This guide covers the Trade app.

The main screen

  1. Market Watch (left). Lists symbols and your watchlists. Click a symbol to make it active; right-click it to place a new order or open a chart.
  2. Charts (centre). Open as many charts as you need. You can place orders and manage positions straight from a chart.
  3. Active Symbol Panel (right). Order entry for the active symbol, plus symbol information, market hours, leverage, your trading statistics and Depth of Market. Toggle it with Ctrl+E.
  4. Trade Watch (bottom). Tabs for Positions, Orders, History and Transactions: where you check, modify and close trades. Toggle it with Ctrl+W.
  5. Account bar and status bar. The account bar (upper right) shows and switches the active account. The status bar at the bottom shows the connection and platform status.

Make it yours

  1. Build a watchlist. In Market Watch create a watchlist and add only the symbols you actually trade, so the list stays readable.
  2. Set up the chart. Use the toolbar above the chart for the timeframe, chart type, indicators and drawing tools; save the arrangement you like so it reloads next time.
  3. Algo and cBots. cBots (trading robots) and custom indicators are built and run in the Algo app. Test any cBot on a demo account first, and never run code you do not understand on a live account.
