The main parts of the window

  1. Main menu. File, View, Insert, Charts, Tools, Window and Help. Most commands live here; for example Tools → Options (Ctrl+O) opens the settings.
  2. Toolbars. Standard, Line Studies (drawing tools) and Periodicity (timeframes) give one-click access to common commands.
  3. Market Watch. Live bid and ask prices for your symbols. Right-click a symbol for a new order, a chart or its contract specification.
  4. Navigator. Your accounts, indicators, Expert Advisors and scripts. Drag an indicator onto a chart to add it.
  5. Toolbox. Tabs at the bottom such as Trade (open positions and orders), History, Alerts and Journal.

Add and arrange symbols in Market Watch

  1. Quick add. Click the “+” line at the bottom of Market Watch, type a symbol name such as XAUUSD and press Enter.
  2. Browse all symbols. Right-click Market Watch and choose “Symbols” to open the full list. Select a symbol and click Show symbol (or Hide symbol).
  3. Check the specification. Right-click a symbol → Specification to see the contract size, digits, trading hours and swap. Check this before trading a new market.
  4. Hide what you do not use. Right-click → Hide (or “Hide all” to keep only symbols with open positions). A short list is easier to watch.
